Life takes us to unexpected places sometimes. The future is never set in stone.

It was on a Sunday, I remember. We were driving back from a holiday when I saw these flashlights from a distance. Curious, we followed it and it lead us to this circus. We had been on the same road a few days ago and there was nothing. The circus arrives without warning.
No announcements precede it. It is simply there, when yesterday it was not.

I hadn’t been to a circus in many years. I fondly remember my father taking me to one when I was a child. I think it was the first time I had seen a hippopotamus.

As a photographer, you are always looking for opportunities to capture something that doesn’t offer itself everyday. And fortunately, I still had enough juice on my camera to last me a few good shots. So, we bought the tickets and took the front row. To my surprise, photography of any sort was not permitted. But after a long  conversation with the manager, I convinced him to let me steal a few shots. I must admit that sometimes, and only sometimes, being a lawyer comes very handy.
