VOD: Humble Plea To Bollywood
I just saw this video made by the guys at All India Bakchod and I had tears in my eyes, someone was saying what I wanted to in a way I’d never imagine.
And here’s the reason for the video:
So, AIB tried to do a Dhoom trailer spoof. But most studios take them down immediately because they can’t take a joke.—

So AIB went to YRF, requested them to not ban the video. Offered to let them monetize the video. And modify jokes.—

Offered to link to original trailer in the video. Thank YRF personally for being sporting. Instead, they asked us to “drop the idea”—

So our latest sketch is a song we would like to dedicate to YRF and the rest of Bollywood. Lighten the fuck up guys.—

Problem with YouTube is that if a channel gets 3 strikes, it gets suspended. We’ve worked hard on the channel, we don’t want a strike.—

There’s always the option of releasing it on another platform. However, we thought it would be more fun to address it this way.—

Having started dfuse.in over 4 years ago, we have more often than not wanted to spoof trailers but then the fact that Indian studios don’t really like this is a huge problem. And a bad rep on YouTube means the channel goes to the dogs with all of what it holds. My friend Kenneth Sebastian has been making parody videos for a while. Most of his parodies were taken of and wanting to maintain his YouTube account (which involves a lot of hard work) he uploaded them elsewhere (on YouTube:P)
Heck we even made a Dhoom 3 Teaser Parody (watch out for me as Abhishek Bachchan) without giving a fuck.
What Kenneth did here was very clever- he recreated the entire teaser from scratch- and that’s not easy. It’s like making a new trailer by itself. the trailer is still online- because YashRaj can’t take it down because it infringes no copyright of theirs. And there have been mashups and trailers that haven’t been taken down like this one:
But what we at dfuse.in wanted to make was more like this:
But knowing how stuff gets banned we asked around and we were mostly not replied to and at times refused.
We really hope, that the folks at Indian movie distributors calm the fuck down and you know be a sport to the madness that awaits them. Cause we are making parodies next year, like it or not.
