]]> So this week’s playlist is sort of special. There was this show called Bring On The Night on MTV last year which brought many of us back to tele. (Though a lot of us watched it on YouTube)The show was unlike anything we’ve had the fortune of seeing on Indian channels. It was young, it wasn’t stupid and it was fun to watch. But what was even better was the songs featured on the show. It brought out an eclectic mix of independent artists in India to a TV viewing audience who probably hadn’t heard anything beyond mainstream Bollywood or VH1 curated international music.
So we decided to go back to the show and pick up 9 of our favourite tunes.

]]> Time for another playlist and we’ve got an eclectic mix (again). This one clocks at 47 minutes and we go genre hopping from vintage Bangla folk rock to some killer electronica and fusion. Oh and it also includes a tribute to the late Amit Saigal aka Papa rock – founder of Rock Street Journal and inspiration to many including us.The post The Once In a While Playlist #6 appeared first on dfuse.in.

]]> This weeks playlist is pretty eclectic. There’s Swarathma’s awesome Kannada song Ee Bhoomi on one end of the spectrum and there is Kolkata Posto Punk Rap band Gandu Circus‘ Bangla song Ricksha on the other. Others who feature in the playlist are Black Letters, Lagori, The Ska Vengers, Junkyard Groove, Gowri, Neel and the Lightbulbs. And did we mention Avial? The entire playlist lasts for about 39 minutes. The post The Once In a While Playlist #3 appeared first on dfuse.in.

]]> Here’s the second once in a while playlist. We discovered some new artists (that we are beginning to love) and some old songs by some of our favourite artistes. So there’s the all so (indie) famous Anti Coke Ganpati by Sky Rabbit and Atomizer by Midival Punditz which we dig so much for what it does to us. There’s this song by ‘chick’ Laxmi Bomb, there are a couple of songs by singer-songwriters such as Prateek Kuhad, Nischay Parekh and our latest favourite dayglocrazie. Our all time playlist regulars; Ganesh Talkies, The F16s feature again. And then there’s Mysore Se Ayi by The Raghu Dixit Project.

]]> In this series, we curate a few tunes we really liked blurring boundaries of genre, place and form. Okay, we admit we’re high. But still, listen. This one features a vintage Pentagram song, a bangla song that originates from a Brecht play, a song by the awesome duo MadBoyMink among others.
