Rejected/Accepted

anik - Saturday, 27 February 2010 05:47

This is a tribute to all the people and companies that have ever rejected us (and the nicer ones that accepted us)…don’t mind the sarcasm and humour; we mean it though.

The Rejectors:

Myntra.com
The internet company that specializes in making t-shirts and all that..was approached by us for an advertisement/merchandise sponsoring request. Firstly the guy on the other side of the line…showed great interest..like he loved the shit and all. He even told us he’ll give us a good price. You know what his good price was….a lame discount on the same gear..thanks to him we lost out on another prospective sponsor. When we reverted saying that we wanted to get through to the management (who according to the employee had other business partners for sponsorships), he just didn’t reply..and we are still waiting for him to do so. Maybe he will. Oh, in other thoughts, the same myntra..gives (or at least advertises to) it’s designers half a lakh rupees almost every fortnight…Would it hurt them to put in some cash on us…sorry we won’t beg…but hell yeah we’ll complain.

Digit Magazine
Digit is probably the reason I got the exposure to the world of Graphic Design….however it was Digit’s Mass Appeal that beat the crap out of us. We wanted them to feature the PDF version of our magazine on their DVD (which comes gratis with the magazine every month). Though the Editor At Large of Digit liked our SPIRIT, he refused to put us on for our use of expletives …and told us to come back when we have a more mass oriented product. Sorry Sir, with all due respect we will not fall into that. It’s okay if you don’t want to feature us…but the movie trailers and the music you do put in your DVDs aren’t often that family friendly as you put it….anyway…thanks for the time…

More to come for sure..very soon… We Love getting rejected and then putting it up. Interested in suing us for defamation go ahead and do that..we’ll love it ..I mean who doesn’t like a little bit of fun? Thanks to the Right To Information Act, everything about dfuse.in is transparent and all emails sent to us (excepting the spam) is resent to an online storage facility (read, an extra GMail account) and can be published any time in defense. We don’t simply make up shit.

The Acceptors:

Kobra and the Lotus / Slain / Diemonds / The Kominas / Afflatus
These guys and their interest in the magazine is
pretty much what propelled us to continue with dfuse.in. All of these musicians have offered to help out with interviews and other things, even when we asked it of them at the last moment. In a way, I feel that folks in India (Slain, Afflatus and some others not included) have a lot to learn from these guys. Maybe that friend of mine who said that my concept won’t work in our country is right…but I wish to prove her wrong…Thanks a lot guys.

Infinite Technologies Hosting
Who says the youth can’t change the world? infinitetech is a similar company..started by my friend Ganesh N Rao (who was 17 when he started it). It has sponsored dfuse.in through out and pretty well. We owe a lot to them…even this very site you are seeing is on their servers…so we’ll be very thankful to them.Maybe it’s the way I see it, but a small company like infinitetech proves that it’s not always money that counts, but the thought that you put into your business.
