ONE TRACK MIND…..TEAM LIGHTS OFF AT ITS BEST!!!

indian idiot - Friday, 26 February 2010 05:55

I liked this one..a lighter side of the ever so serious suicidal thingy..give it a watch be inspired…..or “Why the fuck did i watch this when  i should be studying?”

and then watch this: THE MAKING

I died laughing..maybe I didn’t but ya its funny and kenneth should be given a nobel prize for medicine..Siddhant should win an oscar..the other guy (naveen) should just clap because he knows within that his stupidity ROCKS!!!..I dunno what am saying

Being more serious..this is a welcome change over the short haired kenneth trailer we saw..they re-shot this thing..I don’t think they had permissions to do of anything they did but am glad they did it. In the wake of all the seriousness with suicides..I think its a welcome change at looking at things..half the people who set out to die..don’t …the suicide rate would have been double other wise..thats a good thing..PLEASE LEAVE COMMENTS

how dfuse.in works……

indian idiot - Monday, 8 February 2010 09:59

Many people have asked me how dfuse.in happens, here’s our secret…the aliens help us do it!!!!
Other than that we also use the following software for production:

1. Microsoft Office Word/Open Office.org Writer: This is probably man’s greatest invention ever..well maybe that was the TV, nevertheless  this one invention has helped dfuse.in contributors (barring Sid, Falah and Arka) to type and ease the work of people like Anandi and to a large extent me.

2. Adobe Photoshop/Adobe Fireworks/GIMP: These three great pieces of software code aid me in the all the graphics work that later ends up on dfuse.in, well I am honestly really thankful to whoever wrote these…

3. Adobe inDesign/Scribus: This is where dfuse.in is moulded, where it is made into what it becomes. This helps in placement and final design of the magazine.

So basically, once an article reaches dfuse.in, Anandi reads it and then decides whether we can have it..then sends it to me…I mostly say yes to everything. I look for mistakes. I send it back to her…she checks again…and sends it to me..we play volley on the mail for a while..then I make a template for the page on one of the software I mentioned in 2. And then i arrange all of it in one of the software in 3. Once the basic structure of the magazine is done, I send it to a few people who proof read it and point out the mistakes.

Before all of this happens, Sid, San and I decide what the theme or content is going to be in consultation with Anandi. After which we get in touch with the contributors telling them what we would probably wanna see..if no one takes up on a certain article..Sid and I usually do it…

The we make a PDF from inDesign and upload it to the net and to our publishers issuu.com..

Then we run around facebook yelling about it.

dfuse.in February Update

indian idiot - Monday, 8 February 2010 09:58

The Editor in Chief of dfuse.in has officially banned me from doing any work related to dfuse.in ..well being my best friend and ex-girlfriend I think she is concerned that I have done poorly in all my tests till date. Problem is that dfuse.in grows on you once you get involved, who would have known that anyone would read an e-zine , Siddharth and I founded dfuse.in sometime in 2009 when we found that the “popular” media wasn’t that bothered bout the population after all and the name “dfuse” was coined by Anandi Basu (her version was diffusion) so diffusion became dfuse.in and we were off. Even if the media were , we didn’t get the answers we believed we deserved. If you notice our media is actually very biased , why does only a certain set of actors give their opinions to newspapers and why exactly would I care for a quote from Shahrukh Khan about the financial crisis in India.

Also many genres of journalism and tons of sub genres are gravely overlooked , I probably will make Media my profession (once I hopefully finish Law…after I hopefully get into one of the good Colleges) and hence we wanted to expose the youth of  our nation who largely don’t give a shit about what the government does….why does it happen?? That’s cause our friend popular media makes it as boring as reading text books…hence most of the youth doesn’t  go beyond the Entertainment, Page3 and sports pages. So to get this crowd to actually give a shit about current affairs and introduce them to new ways of writing , you need to speak their language.

Siddharth and I never thought that  dfuse.in would go beyond the first issue. Well it did and now we are working  (wait I am not allowed to!!) on our third issue. Let me tell you guys that the third issue is going to be very different from the past issue. Lot of structural changes and a pretty good line up of indie-musicians from around the globe.

A lot has changed since dfuse.in  started out , firstly I broke up with my best who became the Editor In Chief in the second issue and continues to hold the position. Siddharth contribution to the magazine is mostly hypothetical however his comments, suggestions and very strong opinions do mould dfuse.in a particular way. Sanjeev also has been a huge factor in dfuse.in , though he pretends to be a big ass hole..Sanjeev’s help both financially and physically have made dfuse.in what it is. Talking of which I must mention that Siddharth’s total monetary contribution towards dfuse.in was .87 Paisa and even though he would hate to agree….Sanjeev has contributed more content than Sid.

I would also mention Ritwik Malik , our latest KORE Team Member is an accomplished media professional though he’s still in school. St.Jimmy the other KORE member is just plain dope….

I would also like to thank Kritika, Divya,Dominic, Madhuri, Anindita, Samanne, Bhanvani, Rida, Andrea,Vanshaj,Kenneth,Pranshu,Siddharth Kumar,Ramnath,Kobra and the lotus(Britanny) and The Diemonds(Priya) for helping us reach this place.(sorry if I missed out on anyone)

To SLAIN(Manek) we owe a big thanks , it is when they agreed to the interview that we became serious.

Thank you ALL!!!..WE LOVE YOU

dfuse.in on the iPad???

indian idiot - Thursday, 28 January 2010 06:40
No Not Real yet!!! But Soon it will be in the future!!!

No Not Real yet!!! But Soon it will be in the future!!!

No that’s not a typo, it’s a reality now. The Apple iPad(also known as the iSlate in it’s Tech Rumour days )  Well it’s a reality now and it will come with a pretty large touch screen (an IPS panel LCD!!) and the lovable Mac OS X , well it’s obviously not comparable to the bigger Macs but it’s a cross between an iPhone and a tablet PC and will obviously attract NetBook users (not Notebook users) who don’t mind paying a premium for something like this.

It will natively support all iPhone applications and well that’s a large array of applications mind you. It will also have word processing and presentation applications at 9.9 $ a piece..pretty sweet I must say.

Now why exactly am I writing about the iPad on the dfused blog???

It’s pretty simple…this will make e-zines a whole lot popular , though bigger magazines like the Rolling Stone and TIME will dominate the e-zine spectra on these e-readers but it will give magazines like dfuse.in a better chance at things….For starters many people dislike reading magazines on their computer screens and even I hate reading it on my miniscule mobile phone screen.. hence the iPad is a boon for us in many ways. Most conventional e-book readers have e-ink and thus it’s lame to read something like dfuse.in in black and white at a lower resolution. However there are colour screen e-book readers available, none have the reach and fan following Apple has. It remains to be seen how successful the iPad is but given Apple’s product history it should do pretty well if not amazingly well , at a starting price point of 499$ it’s a premium for mobile phone users..and it might cost more in India because 499$ is still lesser than what the iPhone (officially) costs in India.

Now it’s a little known fact that dfuse.in is already available for the Google  Android Platform (running on the Google Nexus One and Motorola Droid and the plethora of the phones that are yet to come like the future versions of Sony Ericsson Xperia). Our distribution partners issuu.com has already developed an application for the Android platform which makes it possible to read indie-magazines and e-zines on your Android devices (I heard a few publishing houses also offer books through this medium)

And given the fact that they are working on iPhone and iTouch App , dfuse.in should be available on the iPad very soon…Watch this space for more info!!!

dfuse.in: NEWS

indian idiot - Monday, 25 January 2010 09:14

Hi Folks,
Thank you all for supporting dfuse.in through these hard times. Any magazine needs time to grow and this growth is the most important part of magazine in the initial stages. Being a web magazine and being based out of India is hard enough …add to that having no professional working on the team.. we have the perfect formula for disaster.

But luck favoring us..we have some how managed to put out two issues…The third issue however will be TWO MONTHS late..thanks to the Examination Season in India where most writers (and I think even readers will be unavailable)

However..the KORE team members (i.e. the team that runs dfuse.in) will try and put out an issue sometime in APRIL (MID April OR LATER).
This is where dfuse.in gets a little serious and we are trying to concentrate on the factors because of which we started dfuse.in////If you would like to know what’s gonna be in the next issue of dfuse.in…feel free to contact me.

A definite poetry section ..with the fiction section will be added . SO do send in those poems and stories..and if you want :- real life incidents…

dfuse.in will also have a politics and youth culture section this time…and not forgetting the addition of the video game review section….

So those of you who would like to help dfuse.in in any way..may contact us at dfuse.in@gmail.com or me..at aniket@crash91.com

it would be awesome if you help us in promoting dfuse.in through your blogs/sites and social networking accounts on ORKUT/ MY SPACE/FACEBOOK/TWITTER. All you have to do is just put a link to dfuse.in and then message us back..we’ll surely mention your blog/site on the dfused blog at (http://blog.dfuse.in) and if you put us on through your social networking account , we’ll put you on the dfuse.in gratitude list.

dfuse.in also needs donations and sponsorships..so if you can help us out..please do so…

I2 on behalf of dfuse.in KORE team
