AKFPL’s SHORTS set to release on 12th July 2013
For every short filmmaker who has complained about short films not getting what they deserve (i.e. a theatrical distribution), here is a somewhat good news. An anthology of 5 award winning short films produced by AKFPL called SHORTS will be released by PVR Director’s Rare across Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Kolkata, Surat, Cochin, Ahmedabad and Bangalore in select PVR properties. The shorts have been directed by directors Shlok Sharma, Neeraj Ghywan, Rohit Pandey, Siddharth Gupt and Anirban Roy.
This seems like a step towards a brighter future for indie filmmakers who start out making short films but only time will tell if such a venture will help the scene in a longer period of time.
SHORTS is scheduled to release on July 12, 2013.
There’s also this interesting competition at Talenthouse where a one minute re imagination of an AKFPL film can win you an internship with the production company.
