Before we let the title baffle you even a little bit, let’s get straight to the point. Georgia Tech’s official South Asian / World Fusion A Cappella band, Taal Tadka has come up with the mash-up of two very famous songs; one, Jason Mraz’s ‘I’m Yours’ and two, ‘Tere Bina’, from the film, Guru. The song is beautiful and we are sure that it will have a very soothing effect on you once you hear it.

Taal Tadka has collaborated with Vanshaj Kapur Films from Pune to create a music video for this song. With Vanshaj Kapur donning the Director’s cap, this video was launched on the 26th of March and already has more than 11,000 hits on YouTube! If you haven’t already seen it, watch it now.

If you notice, all the elements in this video are very typical of Bollywood. When asked about this, Vanshaj Kapur said that the video itself is a tribute to Bollywood. “The genre itself is looked down upon nowadays”, says Vanshaj. This video revives a lot of those moments we have literally grown up seeing on the silver screen.

When you see the video, you will notice the tremendous effort which has been put in. The team at Vanshaj Kapur Films has shot in over 15 different locations over a period of 10 days. With specialized teams set up for art, make-up and costume, the video leaves no stone unturned. Take a moment to look at the beautiful locations chosen and even better, the sets which have specially been created. For a completely student-run venture, this video looks top notch.

When it comes to the cinematography and production as a whole, in no way does this look like just another student film or video. We applaud their efforts and urge you to take a look at it. It might not appeal to a lot of sensibilities and there are bound to be flaws which you may or may not notice. However, take a sincere look at the effort and tell us what you thought!
